What is amorphous metal?

An amorphous metal is a solid metallic alloy material that exhibits an unusual atomic-scale structure compared to all other metals. Amorphous metals are produced by several differing procedures, all of which are complex and require specialized equipment and trained personnel. The first successful production of an amorphous metal (also known as metallic glass) occurred at Caltech in 1960. The positive quality is its high coefficient of restitution (COR). This measure of the “restitution” of a collision between two objects and how much kinetic energy remains for the objects to rebound makes the material ideal for manufacturing thin-faced golf club heads and golf balls.

This ball is expensive so it breaks my heart when I lose it, but it flies very far away and I love it. Had great games last week and this week.

Attomax Soft Review

I received a box of orange colored soft balls last week and saved them until my club tournament yesterday which I won! Balls were great although the distance gained was more evident off iron shots. On flushed drives, I gained about 10-15 yards. Played the entire round with only one ball and the ball still looks good !
Wonder if these balls are legal for club level tournament play?

Good for the collection

I love that these are exclusive (and expensive). I’m a golf collector so these are unopened on a display shelf. I haven’t hit one. It’s doubtful I will!
